I have been a part of the Unity Ajijic community for the past three years and have had the privilege of serving on the Board of Trustees since 2024, currently as Board President. My experience with Unity Ajijic’s leadership and governance has been both inspiring and rewarding. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve alongside caring and dedicated people as we work together to support and expand our vision and mission.

I found Unity in 2006 when a book pressed itself into my hand at Barnes and Noble. It was Discover the Power Within You by Eric Butterworth. Not knowing what a Unity Church was, I looked in the phone book and found it was a few blocks from my house. That Sunday, I walked in the front door and said to the minister, “Hi my name is Tim Ford and I am here”… and I am still here!
Vice President
Suzi Finucane, Vice President: I found spiritualism in the mid 1980's and The Living Enrichment Center in Portland, Oregon which was my path to the Unity teachings. I became involved in the women's ministry program. It has been an amazing journey to today where it is my joy to be the Hospitality person and a Board Member for Unity Ajijic.

Steve Sanders, Board Member: I have been involved with Unity for 3 years and New Thought for 53 years. New Thought changed my life and has supported me through many life changes and challenges which led me to be a RScP Practitioner for over 20 years and to teaching several CSL classes.

Gary Kent, Board Member: I've been involved with Unity and New Thought for at least 40 years and I have had countless experiences of blessings and guidance. A graphic one comes to mind when I retired and moved 200 miles to a new place. The best part of being on the Board is contributing to our growth.
Board Advisors
Sheila Ford, Board Advisor: I found Unity in 1988 in Sacramento, California with Reverends Phil and Dorothy Pierson. Since then, I have served on Unity Boards (including the Central California Regional Board) as President, Secretary and Treasurer. After waking in the middle of the night to a calling from Divine Spirit to Unity Ministry, I changed careers from psychology professor and counselor. I entered Seminary and became ordained. I served as Senior Minister at Unity in Stockton, California for 7 years. And as volunteer and then Associate Minister for Unity Ajijic since December 2023. The greatest gift to me (and to the world) is that my spiritual and emotional maturity has grown exponentially during this time and continues to do so.
